Lopez Labs was established in 1992 by the Masonry Heater Association. It purpose is to obtain reliable North American performance data on masonry heaters and masonry fireplaces.

A variety of masonry heaters has been tested. At over one hundred and fifty test runs, this is the largest masonry heater performance database in North America. Lopez also participated with two other labs in a simultaneous field test series of masonry fireplaces at McNear Brick in California in 1995.

Lopez Labs facilities are located in Marysville, WA, and Shawville, Quebec.

A number of papers have been published describing the research at Lopez Labs. These are available at Lopez Labs Archive
