Edith Kiesling of Canadian Kachelofen/Kiesling Construction in Nova Scotia has recently qualified to become the eighteenth heater mason to be certified in North America through the Masonry Heater Association.
Edith "just sort of grew right into Kachelofen Construction" as the daughter of Ernst & Maria Kiesling. All throughout her teens she was helping in the company part time. She took two years off and went to Halifax to go to community college as well as the Flight Attendant Academy. She then spent four months in Italy as an au pair. Once she returned she started working full time with Ernst & Maria. She has been working with them for almost three years mainly as a Kachelofen Builder, but also doing carpentry work, office work, and whatever else needs to be done.
Attendees at Wildacres 05 had the pleasure of meeting Edith who became an immediate participant and asset to the MHA.
